Terms of sale
The short version: you pay the price you are shown, we print your copy and post it to you, and the law of your own country still protects you.
Who you are buying from
These terms apply to every order placed on this website. The seller is Universal Canvas, publishing as Iris Enigma. Our full details are at the foot of this page.
The book
A Murder in Pieces is a printed puzzle book of 116 pages, printed in black and white and perfect bound with a colour cover. It is printed to order by our print partner, Lulu, and each copy is made after you pay for it. Pictures and descriptions on the site show the book as closely as we can; the colours of a printed cover can differ slightly from a screen.
Ordering
You enter a delivery address, see the full price for it, and pay through Stripe’s checkout page. The contract between us is made when your payment goes through; we confirm it by email straight away. We may decline or cancel an order we cannot fulfil, for instance an address the carrier will not deliver to, and if we do, we refund you in full.
Prices and payment
Prices are in euros for delivery in Europe and in US dollars elsewhere. The price you see includes VAT where it applies and standard delivery. A faster delivery option costs extra, and the extra is shown before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
For deliveries outside the European Union, the destination country may charge import duties or taxes on arrival. Those are set by that country, not by us, and are paid by the recipient.
Delivery
Your copy goes to the press soon after you pay. Printing and binding take a few days, and then it is posted to the address you gave, with a tracking link emailed to you when it ships. Delivery times from then on depend on the carrier and the destination. If a copy does not arrive, tell us at hi@amurderinpieces.com and we will send another or refund you.
Returns, faults and your right to cancel
You may cancel within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason, and a damaged or misprinted copy is replaced or refunded at our cost. How that works is set out on the returns and refunds page, which is part of these terms. You also keep the legal guarantee that the book is as described and free of defects.
The puzzles and the writing
The cases, puzzles, text and artwork are protected by copyright. Buying a copy lets you read it, solve it and lend or give it away. Please do not copy, scan or share the pages, answers or confessions.

Write to hi@amurderinpieces.com with anything about an order. A person reads every message and will reply.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you buy as a consumer, that does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring a dispute before the courts there.
