Returns and refunds
You have fourteen days to change your mind, and a copy that arrives damaged or misprinted is replaced or refunded at our cost.
Damaged, misprinted or lost
Every copy is printed to order, and now and then the press or the post gets one wrong. If yours arrives damaged, badly printed or bound, or does not arrive at all, write to hi@amurderinpieces.com with your order details and, for a damaged or misprinted copy, a photo. We will send a new copy or refund you in full, whichever you prefer. You do not have to send the faulty copy back.
Changed your mind
You may cancel your order without giving a reason within 14 days of the day the book is delivered. To do so, send a clear statement to hi@amurderinpieces.com before the 14 days are up. Something like this is enough:
I withdraw from my purchase of A Murder in Pieces, ordered on [date] and received on [date]. [Your name and address.]
We will reply with the address to return the book to. Send it back within 14 days of telling us. The cost of posting it back is yours. Please return it unread and unmarked: a casebook with the puzzles pencilled in or the seal broken has lost its value, and we may reduce the refund to match.
How you are refunded
We refund what you paid, including standard delivery, to the payment method you used, within 14 days of hearing from you. We may wait until the book is back with us or you have shown that you posted it. If you chose a faster courier, the extra you paid for it over standard delivery is not refunded.
Cancelling before it prints
An order goes to the press soon after payment. If you write to us straight away we will try to stop it and refund you, but once printing has started the order can only be returned as described above.
Your legal rights
Nothing here limits the rights the law gives you. If you buy as a consumer in the European Union you have a legal guarantee that the book is as described and free of defects.
