About the casebook

A Murder in Pieces is a murder mystery you solve rather than read. Four complete cases, forty puzzles, and a killer at the end of each one.

What it is

A printed puzzle book of four country-house murders. Each case is told across ten chapters, and each chapter ends at a real puzzle on the page: a cipher, a word search, a sudoku, a picture grid, a maze, and at last a logic grid that names the killer. Solve the puzzle and you have done what the detective did. Solve all ten and you have read a complete mystery. Solve all forty and you have closed every file.

The cases stand alone. Read them in order or pick the one whose opening page you like best. Difficulty climbs inside every case, and the four cases grow harder as the book goes on. Each ends with a reckoning that names the murderer; the sealed confessions wait at the very back, behind the answer keys.

It is made for one armchair detective with a pencil, or for a table of them arguing over the same page. No app, no account, nothing to download. Everything you need is in the book.

Who makes it

A Murder in Pieces is one of The Armchair Detective Casebooks by Iris Enigma, a small independent imprint of Universal Canvas. This website is the imprint’s own shop: we sell the book here directly, and nothing else.

How a copy reaches you

Nothing sits in a warehouse. When you order, your copy goes to the press, spends a few days being printed and bound, and is then posted to the address you gave. Standard delivery and tax are already in the price you see, and payment is handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
